The Latvian Advertising association (LAA) is public organization, established in 1994 with objective to unite 3 parties working in advertising industry- advertisers, mass media and advertising agencies. Right from the start the main aim of association was to bring in order advertisement market by improving the quality of advertisements, building up the positive image in society and contending against new law regulations regarding limits of the advertisement distribution in mass media.
Association is in industry for 16 years and during this time has outlined the most relevant business fields of a hard work:
• Raising professional standards;
• Legislation;
• Fair advertisement practice;
• Industry improvement;
• The informative data base.
Substantial achievements:
• Establishment of self regulation system;
• Output of advertisement law;
• Output of code of ethics;
• Organizing of Advertising festival Golden Hammer;
• Collaboration with resembled organizations outside of Latvia.
Association activities always have been directed to improve development of industry and satisfaction of members needs, without it any progress in association or industry wouldn't be possible, because only with close cooperation wit LAA members it has reached present results.
Latvian Advertising association still proceeds and so the number of its members. Now 53 members operate in association, they present:
• advertising agencies;
• mass media;
• mass media agencies;
• advertisers;
• production companies;
• catalog publishers;
• research institutes;
• banks.
